Since a young age, Alejandro has been fascinated by how things work. As a child, he helped his father build and repair electrical equipment in Cuba with very limited resources. Alejandro learned to innovate and improvise, and found great joy in problem solving. As an engineering major in college, Alejandro continued to explore and expand on his passion for creative technology. After college, he was hired by Medtonic’s Research and Development team. It was there while researching pacemakers that Alejandro was first exposed to clinical medicine; an experience that led to his pursuit of a career in medicine.
